Stephanie Cruz Mendez (b. Miami, FL) is a visual artist working primarily with analog photography and cyanotype. Rooted in experimentation, her practice embraces the medium’s inherent unpredictability, allowing chance, error, and material drift to become active elements in the work. She received her BFA in Photography from Pratt Institute in New York, where her interest in alternative printing processes first took shape and has continued to guide the evolution of her practice.
Her recent project Fotossensível has circulated across independent print fairs, artist-run spaces, and bookstores, including both editions of the Available Works Fair in collaboration with São Paulo–based bookstore Desapê, a solo booth at La Feria Print Media Fair with NYU’s Latinx Project, a month-long installation at Cholita in Ridgewood, Queens, and distribution through Dale Zine in Miami.
